Roane County Schools Top County System in Knox Region

Kingston, TN. - The Tennessee Department of Education 2006 Report Cards has released the "Report Cards" for all public school systems in the state and Roane County Schools received the best report card of any county system in the greater Knoxville area.

According to information printed in the March issue of the Greater Knoxville Business Journal, the rankings were as follows:

1. Oak Ridge
2. Maryville
3. Alcoa
4. Clinton
5. Roane County
6. Knox County
7. Anderson County
8. Loudon County
9. Sevier County
10. Blount County
11. Jefferson County
12. Lenoir City
13. Union County

The rankings were developed based on grade point averages up to 11 letter grades contained on 2006 state Report Cards. Ties were broken with ACT scores.
