New Membership Services Manager Named at The Roane Alliance

Thursday July 09, 2009

Kingston, TN. - The Roane Alliance has named Maggie Wisden as its new Membership Services Manager.

"Maggie will be bringing a wealth of marketing, administration and business experience to our Chamber membership services at The Alliance," Leslie Henderson, President and CEO of The Roane Alliance said Thursday of Wisden's appointment. "In addition to her strong background in administration and marketing, she also served as a volunteer and as a board member for Chambers in the past and therefore has a real understanding of how important a thriving Chamber can be to the success of a community."

Wisden, most recently of McMinn County, has lived all over the United States, from Houston, TX to Sarasota, FL, but originally came from upstate New York. She has served as a consultant to small businesses on marketing, helping companies from start-up firms to multi-million dollar corporations.  Her background also includes experience in technical writing and strategic planning. She attended Mark Hopkins College and holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

"Maggie is a team player with a ‘no job too big or too small' attitude," Henderson said, "and she is used to working in smaller organizations and in positions that require a lot of different hats to be worn - a good fit for our hard-working team at the Alliance."

"I grew up in a family that believes in community service, and I think Chambers are a vital part of a growing community," said Wisden.

Wisden says one of her primary goals is to bring more opportunities for growth to the members of the Roane County Chamber.  As she expresses it: "All businesses need opportunities to be recognized both inside and outside their community.  My goal is to provide as many of those opportunities as I can."

The Chamber is one of the partners within The Roane Alliance, which is Roane County's economic development organization. The partners who operate under the Alliance umbrella alongside the Roane County Chamber of Commerce include the Industrial Development Board and the Visitor's Bureau.
