Roane Alliance 2009 Annual Fund-raising Gala Now To Be Held Nov. 13
Monday October 12, 2009
Kingston, TN -- Friday, November 13 is the date for this year's Roane Alliance Gala and this year the Alliance is including a little time travel at no extra cost -- a sentimental journey back into the era of the 1940's.
"This year we are going with the elegance of the 1940's for our Gala theme," said Leslie Henderson, President and CEO of The Roane Alliance. "The Gala committee thought a journey back to an era with the "Can Do" attitude of a war effort and the big band and boogie-woogie sounds of the day might be just the tonic we need."
The Alliance Gala is the primary annual fundraising event for The Alliance, as well as one of the region's premiere social events. The evening will begin with a wine reception and dinner followed by a live auction - a silent auction will be held during the reception and dinner. The event will be held at Rothchild's in West Knoxville. The auctions - silent and live - will feature such items as weekend getaways, fur coats, estate jewelry, beauty baskets and much, much more.
"The money raised from the Gala goes toward funding the many programs The Alliance administers throughout the year to make sure good quality growth continues to come this way," said Keith Uselton, Chairman of The Roane Alliance Board.
"Last year brought a lot of challenges to many of us, including the partners of the Alliance, but it could have been a lot worse and much of that is because we have a strong, highly-functioning Alliance out there working on our behalf." Uselton said. "So your help in supporting our Gala this year is even more important than before. "
To become a Gala supporter in any way - including the purchase of sponsorships or individual tickets ($150 per person) or through the donation of any auction items -- call The Roane Alliance at 865-376-2093.
"Your support," Henderson said, "is critical to our future success."
The Roane Alliance is Roane County's economic development organization and consists of both public and private organizations, including the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, the Roane County Industrial Development Board and the Roane County Visitors Bureau.
