Chamber to Hold First Town-Hall-Type Meeting in Rockwood
Thursday October 22, 2009
Kingston, TN - The Roane County Chamber of Commerce is holding their first town-hall-type meeting in Rockwood on Oct. 27. This is the first meeting of its kind to be held as part of a new community outreach effort which the chamber launched this summer.
Beginning at 5:30 pm at the Live and Let Live drug store at 225 W. Rockwood St. in Rockwood, the meeting will allow Chamber board members and staff to meet with local community leaders and residents to talk about Chamber projects and get input on local business needs. If successful, the meetings will be held on a quarterly basis at various locations around the county.
Leslie Henderson, President and CEO of the Roane Alliance, said: "The Chamber wanted a way to meet with both Chamber members and the community at large to share ideas, let people know about some of programs that are available, and discuss upcoming plans. It's also a good venue to hear back from the community about what they would like to see from us."
Reservations are not necessary and the meeting is open to the public. For more information, contact Maggie Wisden at the Roane Alliance - 865-376-5572.
The Roane Alliance is Roane County's economic development organization and consists of both public and private organizations, including the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, the Roane County Industrial Development Board and the Roane County Visitors Bureau.
