Justin Snow Chosen as Next Roane Alliance President/CEO

May 23, 2023

KINGSTON, TN- During the May 11th Roane Alliance board meeting, the Roane Alliance Board of Directors voted unanimously to select Justin Snow as the new permanent President/CEO of the Roane Alliance. Snow, 47, who has been serving as Interim President since November 2nd, was recommended to the board by its executive committee and the selection committee after a nationwide search that began several weeks ago. A native of Kingston, Mr. Snow worked for AT&T for nearly 18 years before leaving the organization to come work at The Roane Alliance in April 2017 as the new Director of Economic Development. During his tenure working closely with the Roane County Industrial Development Board, 115 acres of land have been sold netting $2.3M in land sale proceeds, resulting in over $47M in planned capital investment and creating/retaining over 300 jobs. Snow states, “This wave of success the past couple of years has created some momentum leading into 2023. There are a couple of more industrial projects in the works and when these get to the finish line later this year, these projects will create hundreds of more jobs and additional multi-millions of dollars of capital investment into our community that will benefit the citizens of Roane County.”

In October 2022, Snow completed all the coursework and his capstone research paper to officially become a Tennessee Certified Economic Developer, TCEcD. Snow is especially excited about the Roane Alliance team he will now lead in all aspects of economic development. “I love showing up to work every day and working with this entire staff. As a whole, this is one of the more inexperienced teams that I have been a part of while working at The Roane Alliance, but the ‘want to,’ the desire to learn, the passion and drive to move the County forward, and the dedication and fight this team shows each day goes unmatched. And that’s a team that I want to engage, lead, and be a part of. 2022 was a great year but I can’t wait to see what this team will accomplish in 2023.”

Snow stated that one of his first tasks will be to hire a new Chamber Coordinator that will be responsible for all administrative aspects of the Chamber and handle all event planning duties.

Justin graduated from Roane County High School in 1994 and East Tennessee State in 1999, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is married to Buffy Denise Snow, a nurse practitioner at Summit Medical in Kingston. They have three children: Madelyn (18), Drew (14), and Gabe (10).
