New Year, New Brand for the Roane Alliance
It’s a new year, and the Roane Alliance has a new brand and a new plan.
Officially launched in late 2016, the Roane Alliance worked with Knoxville-based advertising firm Designsensory to develop a system to unify the brand and its partners.
Five partners united under the Roane Alliance to become the now single economic development organization. Under the new umbrella, each partner—the Chamber of Commerce, Visitor Bureau and the Industrial Development Board has its own focus, identity, board of directors and budget, but the goal is the same: increasing prosperity and improved quality of living.
“We wanted to provide a clear message of unity to the government, the community and other stakeholders,” said Wade Creswell, president and CEO of the Roane Alliance. “The Roane Alliance is the umbrella organization designed to unite these entities.”
The Alliance serves as the comprehensive resource for all things Roane County—from local business and economic development to tourism and education—which includes overseeing award-winning programs like Education Matters and Retire Roane. Education Matters works to connect students with local businesses for hands-on work experience, and Retire Roane was chosen by the state to partner with their Retire Tennessee program, drawing retirees to Roane county.
The first step was creating a flex logo system to unify the partners under one brand, while maintaining each partner's separate identity.
“Designsensory came up with a flex logo system that allowed us to create separate logos for each partner, while unifying them under one umbrella,” Pam May, Roane Alliance vice president, said.
Once the new brand identities were in place, the Roane Alliance and Designsensory developed a comprehensive marketing plan designed to increase Roane County’s development via tourism revenue and economic development.
“This new plan includes tactics tailored to each partner, designed to help them meet their individual goals, while supporting the overall goals of the Roane Alliance,” May said.
The Roane Alliance is the comprehensive resource in anything and everything concerning businesses, tourism and economic development in Roane County, which includes the Industrial Development Board, Visitors Bureau and Chamber, and programs such as Education Matters and Retire Roane. Our mission is to create an environment and a unified voice that promotes job creation, economic development, enhanced quality of life, education and workforce.
