Watts Bar Lake to be Featured on Fox 43’s Knoxville Weekend

June 18, 2018

Roane County, TN – Watts Bar Lake will be featured on Fox 43’s Knoxville Weekend program June 21 during the morning news and through June 29. There will also be airings on knoxvilleweekend.com, their Facebook page and other social media, plus a 30-second commercial about Roane County and Watts Bar Lake.

Knoxville Weekend highlights all things fun in East Tennessee, with this episode being all about the lake.  Broadcast in Knoxville and the surrounding counties, travelers in a 100-mile radius will be encouraged to come “Soak in Roane” by spending a day on one of East Tennessee’s most beautiful lakes.

“The crew from Knoxville Weekend, along with host Jac B, spent the day on Watts Bar Lake several weeks ago,” said Sam Jones, the Roane Alliance’s Tourism and Marketing Manager, “it was fun to watch them film while Jac learned to practice yoga on a paddleboard for the first time, enjoy a pontoon ride compliments of Bunch Marine with Michael Heidle at the wheel, and then hangout at some of our local marinas to eat and chat.”

The episode will condense a full day spent on Watts Bar Lake to an action-packed 3.5 minutes that will highlight:

  • Bunch Marine pontoon boat;
  • Kingston City Park, where Krystal Hennager, Roane County SUP Yoga, shows how paddleboard yoga is done;
  • Blue Springs Marina and Crow’s Nest Restaurant where lots of great food was enjoyed, as well as an interview with Janet Steidle; and
  • Caney Creek RV Resort and Marina where Jac B talked to Manager Doug Phillips about Roane’s largest marina and campground.
