Roane Alliance Annual Gala
2011 Gala was a Cabaret - and a Hit!
As the hit song from the musical Cabaret goes, "Come taste the wine, come hear the band...right this way, your table's waiting," so did the invitation to this year's Annual Roane Alliance Gala. And did they ever! This year's Gala not only reached a milestone - it's 10th year - and turned out to be one of the "best ever," as attendees were overheard saying, but there were also many highlights this year. There were more donors than ever as well as more attendees and table sponsors than in recent years.
"One of the most gratifying parts about this year's Gala is how much support we got even though times have been tough for many of us," said Leslie Henderson, President/CEO of The Roane Alliance.
"We had a record number of donors this year and more table sponsors than we've had for years. They may have had to cut back just a little, but they still came through for us. What that says to me is that our business community believes in us and they believe in what we're doing. That sure feels good."
The Gala sponsors this year included: Platinum: CROET; Bronze: Oak Ridge Utility District, and WSI of Oak Ridge; along with 25 Gold: AGA Insurance, Team Health, Covenant Health, Daycab Company, EnergySolutions, Foothills Care, Griffin Insurance, City of Rockwood, Kimble Chase/Thermo Fisher Scientific, McGill Associates, Perma-Fix Environmental Services, B&W Y-12, Pro2Serve, Regions Corporate, Regions Bank, Roane County Officials, Roane County Government, Roane County Industrial Development Board, TVA Kingston Fossil Plant, Roane State Community College, Roane Transportation/Roane Metals, ORNL Federal Credit Union, Toho Tenax America, UCOR, and USEC.

Just Look at the Fun We've Had
The 2010 Gala, held on Friday, November 19, officially kicked off the Alliance's 10th year, complete with a red carpet and night of stars. Those in attendance included many Hollywood stars such as John Wayne, Peewee Herman, Sonny and Cher, Audrey Hepburn, Mae West, and many more...making it a fun and fabulous night!

The 2009 Gala was held on Friday, November 13 and included a sentimental journey back into the era of the 1940's. This was the first year that the Gala went with a theme, resulting in one of the best Galas to date. The Fullers won the award for best costume that included a pin-striped suit and mink shawl.
